What is TimberScale?

Baywood Technologies’ scale house administrator system - TimberScale™ - is a client/server-based application designed to automate the receiving, shipping and inventory functions of pulp/paper companies by incorporating the innovative use of Smart Card technology. Implementation of TimberScale will improve the accuracy of information that is captured by the scaler and will expedite the processing of transactions.

SmartCard Technology provides the flexibility of reading and writing to the card allowing it to be used and reused in a timely manner, as well as removing human data input from transaction processing to increase speed and reduce errors.

Digital Video Capture Technology

Digital photography is stored with time stamped scale ticket record of each inbound or outbound load to be reviewed on screen or printed for your convenience or future needs.

TimberScale's Digital Video Capture Technology works with attended or unattended scale house enviornments.
Digital Cameras

Our TimberScale software supports the use of various digital camera hardware and multiple image file formats.

Captured images can be easily utilized in many software packages including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and any desktop publishing software. They can be published to the web, emailed, printed, faxed or whatever your needs may be.
Security & Quality

TimberScale digital video capture technology insures load quality and the highest level of facility security.

Eliminates the need to leave the scale office for:

Scale House Administrator

The Scale House Administrator functions allows for easy configuration of the Scale House Application

Features:

  1. Allows for the configuration of the Scale and Card Reader
  2. Allows for setting up of parameters for Truck Weights, Railroad and Belt Scale
  3. Ability to store information about Scale House including the Location ID, Name, Address, Phone Number and Fax
  4. Allows for the configuration of the attached printers
  5. Allows for different types of measurements needed for each type of wood measured for Stick Scale information
  6. Allows for the configuration of attached scale if scale is replaced
  7. Optional remote camera for added security

Administration

Establish and maintain secure access to The ScaleHouse Administrator System. Setup and maintain users and the operations they can perform.

Features:

  1. Security Manager Function
  2. Provides secure access to application
  3. Create and maintain user IDs' and passwords
  4. Create and maintain user profiles and groups
  5. Ability to control what functions and screens users are permitted to access

Truck Tickets

The truck tickets section of the Scale House Application manages the truck ticket functions.

Features:

  1. Allows for management of inbound and outbound truck activities
  2. Ability to enter manual tickets
  3. Allows for the tracking of inventory transfers
  4. Ability to reject a load
  5. Allows for voiding of tickets
  6. Ability to automate cull deductions using Company standards
  7. Easy search of scale tickets
  8. Scale ticket viewer function
  9. Ability to edit a scale ticket
  10. Direct scale reading
  11. Ability to monitor and track manual weighing versus automated weighing for added security

Inbound Truck

The inbound truck section of the Scale House Application provides accurate information of all deliveries and shipments.

Features:

  1. Ability to manage deliveries or shipments
  2. Ties all deliveries or shipments to an Authorization
  3. Ability to convert to various units of measure
  4. Truck pulls on scale
  5. Smart Card is then inserted into Card Reader
  6. In a manned scale house, Smart Card is then programmed with: Shipping Facility, Product, Customer, Producer, Supplier, County/State, Landowner, Trade Sale ID, and Driver
  7. Ability to pre-program Smart Cards for unmanned scaling
  8. Automatically inputs weight from scale
  9. Truck then proceeds to offload location
  10. Once offload is complete, truck proceeds to outbound scale
  11. Optional infrared lights to ensure truck is in proper position for weighting
  12. Optional camera for added security

Outbound Truck

The outbound truck section of the Scale House Application manages the all outbound functions.

Features:

  1. Allows for outbound scale to run unattended
  2. Optional infrared lights to ensure truck is in proper position for weighting
  3. Optional camera and automatic gate for added security
  4. Truck pulls on scale and Smart Card is inserted into Card Reader
  5. Tare weight is then read from scale and automatically written to Smart Card
  6. Net weight is calculated and receipt is printed for driver
